From My Garden

where ecology, education and engagement take root

For me, gardens have always been more than a backdrop of a landscape. Raised on a century farm on the outskirts of north London, Ontario, the family kitchen garden was a big part of my life. Growing up, gardens were my classroom. My parents, my Dad a farmer in my early years and my Mum an avid gardener, together with Mother Nature, taught me patience, observation, responsibility, and wonder. Those early lessons shaped the gardener I am today and continue to guide the work I share through From My Garden.

My love of learning in the garden eventually led me to formal study, earning a Certificate in Horticulture from the University of Guelph. That education deepened my understanding of plant science, soil systems, garden designs and sustainable practices – knowledge I love to share with others.
